Service Description

The Japanese Tea Ceremony also called Chan-no-yu embodies the Zen Art of Mindfulness. During this 2-hour workshop you will learn about and participate in the ceremony in great detail including traditional dress, the history of the ceremony and the origins of tea, the order of the ceremony and specific customs as well as a focus on the observations of how the different elements are incorporated into the ceremony (Air, Water, Fire, Wood, Stone). We will also spend time on 10 Virtues of Tea as well as the Zen art of connecting with the present moment and observation of the human senses during a tea meditation. Light refreshments will be served, including tea. The event occurs overlooking our Japanese Garden for an authentic and peaceful experience.


Cancellation Policy

There is a 12 hour cancelation policy for all reservations, after which the full amount will be charged. We accept cash, Venmo and all major credit cards. Class packs are valid from one year of purchase, after which time they expire. NY and NH tax will be added to all purchases as required by these states. No refunds. ​We prohibit the use of alcohol, smoking or vaping on the property and try to promote a healthy environment for our patrons.
